Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators designed for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities at 600 V and will be available exclusively to Canadian contractors. Aggreko says the models are configured to meet and exceed local market needs and requirements.
The Canadian Tier 4 Final generators include what Aggreko describes as its latest technologies for reliable, low-emissions power across commercial and industrial applications. They are also configured for the market and regulatory requirements facing Canadian contractors. All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, according to the company, to meet Canada’s electrical and fuel regulations.
Direct 600 V output for large loads
Aggreko highlights onboard 600 V capability on the 1200 kW model. The company says this eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers. It also says the direct 600 V output reduces project complexity, enhances cost-efficiency and minimizes potential points of failure. Aggreko positions that advantage for large industrial loads where 600 V is frequently required.
Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said tailoring the company’s most advanced generators for Canadian customers underscores the importance of the market. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast, remote territories, as well as thriving construction and data centre sectors. According to Nascimento, Canada has clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured. He said the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators pair Aggreko’s latest technologies with hardware tailored to the specific requirements of operating in Canada.
Canopy units and larger industrial model
The 145 kW and 210 kW models are readily deployable canopy units for immediate energy needs. The 1200 kW model is intended for large industrial loads. The new additions strengthen Aggreko’s Canadian fleet, which offers solutions from 25 kW to 1200 kW.
Aggreko’s Canadian service centre network will allow its energy experts to work with customers in industries including data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events. Those teams will deploy temporary power for a range of applications.
All three Canadian Tier 4 Final generators are described as providing industry-leading fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. Aggreko also sees the models as well suited to Canada’s expanding data centre industry. As provincial regulators look to limit the amount of power data centre operators pull from the grid, the company says its Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid energy to keep data centres operational in a way that is minimally disruptive to communities.
